Log 10x Faster Than You Used To
By The HYBRD Team
The reason most people stop logging their lifting is not motivation. It is the interface. Search for an exercise, add it, add a set, type the weight, type the reps, duplicate the set, adjust the weight, repeat for six exercises. Do that between sets while your heart rate is still up and you will quit by week three.
The fix is the AI Logger, and the in-app tutorial does not undersell it: record your lifts 10x faster. Recording strength training has always been a pain, so now you can log anything in the AI Logger. The input is a sentence.
What you actually type
There is no syntax to learn. The field is free text, and the placeholder shows the shape it expects:
E.g. 3x10 deadlift at 135, 5x5 squat at 140, ...
Sets, reps, weight, exercise name, comma-separated. That is the whole contract. You are not filling in a form field by field, you are describing what you did in one line and letting the app do the parsing. It handles the exercise matching too, so "deadlift" resolves to the real exercise in your library rather than creating a duplicate.
The parse streams back as it happens. You watch the exercises appear rather than staring at a spinner and hoping, which matters because it means you can see a mistake immediately and fix it before you save.
Or take a photo of it
The same card takes images. Two ways in: pick an existing photo from your library, or shoot one there and then. This is the path for anyone who already writes their sessions somewhere else. A page of a training notebook, a whiteboard at a class, the workout your coach texted you, a screenshot from another app. Photograph it and let it get parsed into real sets rather than retyping it.
This is also the fastest way to get a backlog in. If you have a notebook full of the last two months, you do not have to choose between typing it all out and losing the history.
Why logging strength work matters more than it looks
A logged strength session is not just a record. It is the input to everything else in the app. Your lifts are what feed the strength attributes of your HYBRD Score, the muscular half of your Training Score, the strength side of the load split in Trends, and the context your plan adapts against. An unlogged squat session is invisible to all of it.
This is the practical version of the argument we made in the "did I even work out?" problem. Measurement drives trust and trust drives adherence, but only if the measurement is cheap enough that you actually do it. Lowering the cost of logging is not a convenience feature. It is what makes the rest of the data honest.
Where to find it
From Home or the Plan tab, tap Log a Workout. The AI describe card is at the top: type the session, or use the image button to add a photo. Review the exercises it pulls out, adjust anything that came back wrong, and save.
If you log the same session repeatedly, open the finished workout, tap the options button, and choose Save as Template. Next time you can pull it from Your Templates instead of describing it again.
Key Takeaways
- The AI Logger takes free text, not a syntax. "3x10 deadlift at 135, 5x5 squat at 140" is all it needs
- It also takes photos, from your library or the camera, so a notebook page or a whiteboard becomes structured sets
- The parse streams in as it happens, so you can catch a bad match before saving instead of after
- Logged lifts feed your HYBRD Score, your Training Score, the Trends charts, and the plan adaptation. Unlogged ones feed nothing
- Find it under Log a Workout from Home or the Plan tab
