I have the only hybrid car on the block.  Every neighbor has an SUV.  The only across the street is the size of a truck!  So I am not in with the "In Crowd."  On second thought, this is pretty pathetic logic, and hopefully, a sentiment that will soon be history.   First of all, I feel good about the choice since I was hoping my son would not have to live in a flood plane or environmental refugee camp.
My car may not make a big impact but I have to do my part.  And opening gasoline bills is not the trauma it used to be.  It looks like it won't be long before the savings pays for the small extra purchase cost. 
Anyway, the time is now.  Get rid of those old light bulbs and get a hybrid electric vehicle. And let's demand more tax incentives too!
